Plea for a manifesto to change …

We are in a viscous cycle leading us to a future where global conglomerates, focussed purely on profit, pay puppet governments to turn a blind-eye to the rape of the planetary resources and fund people —not to do productive work— but to spend their assigned income consuming the conglomerates’ products and services.

    Peevish

Peevishness. When did we all get to be so collectively peevish. And I do mean all of us. It genuinely seems to be a global phenomena.

    The liars are winning …

Over this lifetime I’ve been disabused of many views. Beliefs I once held inviolate have been challenged and toppled … yes, this IS just another bleating rant, sorry. I need to let off steam from time to time.

    Poet Spotlight — Julia Vinograd

I thought I’d do an occasional feature spotlighting some of my favourite poets and-or poems. Here I spotlight Julia Vinograd — very probably my favourite poet ever.

    No need to read …

When I’m down —working through life’s stuff—I need to write; even though what I write may make no sense, still the stream needs to flow to paper. As electricity to earth. This is such a piece. I don’t expect it to be read. Readers may move along now.

  • REBLOG: A Poem From 2084 – Frank Solanki

Thank you Frank. This is a poke for those of us still not awake to the reality we are leaving our children and their children.

It’s not the politicians who will determine the end. It is us. You and I. Each of us are jointly and severally responsible. Our actions, each and every one, each and every day; there’s what will determine the fate awaiting our children.

I’ll leave the stage here to Frank now.

    Frank Solanki

The world is getting hotter and
The sun burns with a rage
My dad claims it’s a punishment
To live in this day and age

    I suffer my ancestors’ past
Who left this world a mess
    Waved red flags but reveled
    Momentarily nevertheless

They wore face-masks I am told
For a brief period or so
    Found it highly inconvenient
    To inhale or to blow

I wonder how those folks would have
    Survived in this atrocity
When we dare not step outside
    Without a full-body PPE

Well I guess what’s done is done
Who is and is not to blame
Now that no new child is born
We’ll be the last to play this game

Shoutout to my friend, Tony T (@sonofgod) for his generous support for my writing. Do check out his blog (tltatemakeover.com).

Can’t wait to get stuck in.

I only just stumbled on her writings, but Marie Howe has a way with words.
